Northwood University Names Todd Lake Admissions Advisor for Adult Degree Program; Welcomes Kailyn Anderson

Northwood University recently named Todd M. Lake as the admissions advisor to the Adult Degree Program (ADP) in Lansing. As a member of the admissions and recruiting team, Lake will work with the ADP throughout the greater Lansing region. He will collaborate with Lansing Community College in Northwood's effort to drive awareness and enrollment in this vital region of Michigan.

Lake brings to Northwood a wealth of recruiting and enrollment experience in various roles throughout his career. Most notably, he enjoyed great success as a senior admissions advisor for Career Quest Learning Center. Lake has managed the enrollment, recruiting and planning functions in several of his positions which will serve him well.

Dr. Matthew Bennett, director of admissions for ADP, states, "Lake possesses the drive, determination and experience necessary to actively engage the marketplace and will be a valuable resource as we seek to grow Northwood's ADP enrollment channels. His enthusiasm, combined with his knowledge of the adult learner, will prove beneficial in actively expanding the awareness and engagement of Northwood University throughout the region."

Lake and his wife, Jana, reside in Dewitt with their three daughters.

Northwood University and the DeVos Graduate School of Management are pleased to announce the addition of Kailyn Anderson as Graduate Admissions Advisor.

Anderson will be based out of Northwood University's East Lansing Graduate facility and will be actively recruiting students throughout the region for the DeVos MBA programs. Anderson is a Northwood University alumna (2004) and joins the university with extensive marketing and sales experience

As the new Graduate Admissions Advisor, Anderson will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with corporations, local organizations, and colleges in an effort to generate and drive enrollment growth and awareness throughout the Greater Lansing region.

Winners Announced For Sixth Annual MSUFCU Student Art Exhibit

Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) announced the winners of the Sixth Annual Student Art Exhibit and honored all who competed at a special ceremony at MSUFCU headquarters on Sunday, Feb. 24.

The exhibit included three segments of awards for the student artists. The Juried Awards were determined by a panel of three local art experts. The People's Choice Awards were determined by votes from the public, cast both in-person at the MSUFCU headquarters and online at the exhibit's website, www.msufcuart.com. The final segment was a new addition to the competition this year. One student was awarded the Social Media Award for gathering the most "likes" on the exhibit's Facebook page.

First place in the Juried award category went to Sarah Dougherty from Okemos High School. Second place was awarded to Kaitlin Houghton of Mason High School. Third place went to Hannah Phelps of Willamston High School.

Juried Honorable Mentions were: Jule Schatz, Okemos High School; Susie Boniadi, Okemos High School; Santos Hernandez, Okemos High School; Madaleine Norman, Okemos High School; Hannah Myers, Lansing Christian High School; Leslie Frisch, Okemos High School; Emilio Pido, Everett High School; Trisha Cheeney, St. Johns High School; Vincent Sparling, Waverly High School; Melanie Moore, Lansing Christian High School; and Matias Brimmer, East Lansing High School.

The People's Choice Award first place winner was Kaitlyn Slack from Grand Ledge High School, who also captured second place as well. Claudia Perez of Grand Ledge High School earned third place. The first-ever Social Media Award was won by Jacob O'leary from Okemos High School. This year more than 8,000 votes were cast online and at MSUFCU Headquarters. More votes were cast this year in-person at the MSUFCU headquarters than in any previous year.

First place winners won $300, second place $200 and third place $100; the Social Media winner was awarded $50 and honorable mentions received $25 each. In addition to the individual awards for the students' work, the School Spirit Award was given the school that received the most votes. This year, the award went to Grand Ledge High School.

GreenStone Video Wins Addy Award

The Mid-Michigan ADDY Awards recognized a video introducing GreenStone Farm Credit Services, produced by MessageMakers, with a Silver Addy award for creative excellence.

"GreenStone was in need of a video that could provide viewers with a clear and concise overview of our company in a short amount of time, and that led us to work with MessageMakers," said Melissa Rogers, GreenStone vice president of marketing and public relations. "On this particular project, MessageMakers successfully incorporated our purpose and brand into a piece that also articulates GreenStone's vision, mission and values."

"We have enjoyed working with MessageMakers on a variety of projects, including a comprehensive re-design of several internal video assets, as well as a new set of television spots over the past two years," said Rogers. "We are proud of the success MessageMakers has received by winning a Silver Addy award for their work on GreenStone's highlight video."

Publicom Names David Craffey Associate Creative Director

Publicom, Inc., an integrated marketing communications firm, has hired David Craffey as associate creative director. In his new position, Craffey interprets the strategic direction to develop on-brand creative work for Publicom clients.

Craffey brings more than 20 years of art direction and graphic design experience to the firm, having worked for clients across diverse sectors, including health care insurance, banking and investment services, electronics, fashion, food services, packaged goods, skin care, retail and quick-serve restaurants. He has amassed more than 75 marketing creative honors, including prestigious CLIO, Webby, Mobius and New York Festivals awards.

Craffey holds a bachelor's degree in art direction and graphic design from the College of Creative Studies in Detroit. Lansing is his new home, having relocated from Rochester.
