Dec 2011 - Thanks Greater Lansing
Let me begin by saying happy holidays to everyone! It’s that time of year to reflect and count blessings. So many positive things have happened in the Greater Lansing area this year, and I’m very grateful. This issue is something of a dedication to them.
Lansing IS great; it’s a tremendous place to be. For many years, our biggest fault has been that we didn’t seem to know that, didn’t appreciate it, and for a while we were our own toughest critics. That’s changing, as I believe people realize the excellent quality of life the Greater Lansing area has to offer and what immense business opportunities there are here. What a supportive place to be an innovator and a youthful entrepreneur; what a special place to make home and to raise a family.
There are so many outstanding sights and features of the area, such as the Capitol, the River Trail, the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Stadium, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum soon to open on Michigan State University’s campus, the diversity of the welcoming people here. Greater Lansing is still a vital part of Michigan’s auto industry, and is home to world-class education institutions, a flourishing insurance industry, and a strong technology industry. Well…there are nothing but great days ahead!
As you read this issue, I hope you’ll feel the same as I do about our area. Thank you all so very much for one more year of the magazine’s existence; we will celebrate our 25th anniversary in June. It’s truly amazing, as it seem like just the other day I began this endeavor. It’s great to be a partner and friend of this outstanding community.
Again, have a happy holiday; from each one of us here at The Greater Lansing Business Monthly, have a very prosperous month and an even better 2012.
