September 2009
Welcome to our new and improved magazine!
The July 2009 issue of The Greater Lansing Business Monthly marked the beginning of the magazine’s twenty-third (be sure its correct!) year of publishing. Through the years, the magazine has experienced significant changes—minor tweaks, new developments and exciting additions, all the while maintaining an important role in our community, bringing you business news and insight on local companies and local businesspeople.
If you were to put all of our magazine covers up on a wall, you would see that about every three to five years we go through a redesign. This issue is one of those milestones. The magazine has been updated to reflect reader and design trends, yet it still maintains our relatively conservative format. This is our way of staying fresh in the marketplace and continuing to provide a magazine that those of you in the Greater Lansing community can read with pride.
This has provided an opportunity to update our website as well, and it reflects some of the changes in the magazine. We hope you will find the new site, www.lansingbusinessmonthly.com, easy to use and informative as you register for an upcoming event, search for an article, or catch up on some additional Notable News. Please take a look and provide us with your feedback.
This month’s issue focuses on a subject near and dear to many people’s hearts—it’s all about pets. Pets play a very significant role in many family’s lives. At the Holman household, many decisions are made around what will work for Joe, our dog, or Miles, our cat. Often Joe can be found curled up on the couch at my wife’s side, or scampering alongside one of us during our daily walk. Our pets become a big part of the family.
Caring for pets is a big business, as you will learn here. There are many options when it comes to grooming, veterinarian care, treats, day and evening care, and suggestions for providing for your pets should they outlive you. We hope you gain a good understanding of the variety of options we have here in the Greater Lansing area. As always, thank you for reading!
Wishing you a profitable month,
