I believe you will enjoy this issue, as I have found it a rewarding one. When we think of doing business, we usually focus on aspects such as cash flow, bottom line, strategic plan. Often we fail to think about some other important aspects, those of creating a responsive and pleasant workplace, and addressing the company’s response to our community’s needs.

So, this issue focuses on the way companies view their place in their environment, recognizing and becoming involved in being socially responsible—What is the right thing to do? What should we be doing to benefit the most people? These feaatured companies have heart, soul and emotions attached to their place and how they fit.

Because space doesn’t allow us to include all our area companies’ stories, we encourage those others to contact us to give us the opportunity to include you in a future issue.

It is wise for us to remember there is more to business success than the importance of profit. Success also includes being a good corporate neighbor, creating a workplace environment employees find comfortable and are proud to be part of, and looking to the welfare of our community.
