June 2007 - Happy Anniversary!

Chris holman - Commentary - The Greater Lansing business monthlyThis is just plain fun! The Greater Lansing Business Monthly first published 20 years ago, and my work with the magazine remains one of my most enjoyable projects. Looking back over those 20 years, I realize how fortunate I have been to work with an incredible group of people and companies. Truthfully, the biggest bonus has been the talented and hardworking staff associated with me through these years. I am very proud of the manner in which my dream has become reality through the addition of these individuals.

There are so many to thank, and it is difficult to know where to begin—so I’ll start with my present staff: Stacy Adado, Heather Galecka, Brandi Jones, Joanne Tyes Briseño, Kay Woodring and photographers Roger Boettcher and Terri Shaver, who every day strive to make our magazine, and the things we do in conjunction with the magazine, ever better. It’s also important that I thank the staff members who have moved on to other endeavors, but who were a major part of building and improving our publication through these 20 years. Next, a big thank you to the community, especially the business community, who have helped and strongly supported this venture from the very beginning.

Most important is the love and support I have received from my wife, Louise, and our three children. They were always there with the encouragement and positive outlook I needed during the inception and realization of my dream.

It has been gratifying to have encouraged new companies, congratulated those companies that continue to carry out a history of productivity, and to have had the opportunity each month to spotlight members of our vibrant business community. Along the way, it’s been nice to have turned a modest profit, a testimony to the fact that a publication such as The Greater Lansing Business Monthly has become a well-accepted part of enhancing our business community.

I thank all of you for your support, and for the manner in which you have embraced the magazine. Your help has not only led to a successful publication, but also to the development of the many added services and functions that are now a part of celebrating our business community. Along with my staff, I look forward to the next 20 years of progress, to being part of helping the Lansing area continue to grow more successful each year. Have a prosperous month!
