July 2009 - Simply Outstanding

Chris holman - Commentary - The Greater Lansing business monthlyFor the majority of Americans, perhaps the biggest financial decision they make takes place when they purchase a home. It’s a very significant amount of money with a long-term commitment and a big part of their financial portfolio. Much the same could be said for any business. Where to house the company? What size facility? How will the financial comitment depreciation schedule match with the strategic plan and projected performance of the company?

It’s important that both individuals and companies seek professional help with such an important decision. And that’s the focus of this month’s issue: We’re presenting a special segment of the professional people in the Greater Lansing area who will step in: women in real estate.

The representatives here are typical of the professional, productive, honorable women who work hard to sell you a property, or find you a rental property, to suit your needs, and who do it with your well-being uppermost in their concerns. They will orchestrate a deal that not only makes money for the people selling, but makes it very cost effective for the customer as well. The real estate business requires a great deal of energy and a lot of commitment, and these real estate agents are definitely up to the task.

In this issue, we present a number of our local real estate professionals who are successful women in this demanding business. They share common qualities that emphasize caring about quality service for their clients. Some here are high profile and well known throughout the community; others you might not know as well, but are every bit as effective in their service to their business and their community. We are sure you’ll enjoy learning more about what they do and how they do it.

In closing, let me say that all of us at The Greater Lansing Business Monthly express a huge thank you to the people in small business who toil and fight risk in tough times every day—working to stay open and to prosper and to keep people employed. We appreciate the many ways in which you help make this a better community.  It’s your tenacity that makes us what we are and we thank you for that. Every day I relish the dance in the entrepreneurial fire with you!

Have a prosperous month,

Chris Holman
