January 2006 - CSI: Lansing

Each week CSI is one of the few TV programs that is neither news nor business related that I definitely plan to watch. Along with many other viewers in America, I include CSI among my favorite shows. I am fascinated with not only the show’s characters and various story lines, but also with the science that lies behind solutions of the cases. The various ways in which clues are discovered and used bring me back to watch week after week.
The intricacies of the program’s plots have also awakened me to an industry I knew nothing about, and to the realization that the Lansing area is well represented by excellent people working as diligently and effectively as those CSI performers. As you look through this month’s magazine, we believe you’ll be fascinated with the forensic science work being carried on right here in the Greater Lansing area—oftentimes not as exotic nor riveting as TV fiction, but even more important in the solution of actual suspicious death and crime. You can be rest assured these people are working daily to find solutions, not an hour a week like their TV counterparts! They are an important and trusted part of our local business community, and we think you’ll appreciate learning more about them.
January is an exciting month for the magazine, as the Greater Lansing Business Showcase debuts on January 18 at the Lansing Center. Mark your calendars now for this trade show and networking event. Mid-Michigan’s most successful and innovative companies will be on hand from 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is $5. For more details, visit www.lansingbusinessmonthly.com and click on the Business Showcase logo.
All of us here at The Greater Lansing Business Monthly hope that you had an enjoyable holiday season, a satisfying year’s end, and that you look forward, as we do, to a very prosperous year ahead. As always, we thank you for being a part of The Greater Lansing Business Monthly family.
